Rising Scholar Conference in Finance 2025
Second annual event with keynote by Prof. Caroline Flammer (Columbia University), organized by PhD candidates from our Department

This year's Rising Scholar Conference on Finance took place on 10 July 2025. The event was jointly hosted by the Department of Finance in collaboration with the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) and supported by the UZH Department for Equality, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI).
This yearly conference aims to bring together PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from diverse backgrounds to share their work and engage with members of the UZH faculty as well as peers from other universities. The one-day event also seeks to support the next generation of scholars by offering thoughtful feedback, guidance, and opportunities to foster meaningful academic connections.
The conference 2025 concluded with a keynote lecture on “Blended Finance” by Caroline Flammer, A. Barton Hepburn Professor of Economics at Columbia University.
