Investment Process in Practice

The course “Investment Process in Practice - Fundamentals and Applications” integrates various areas of finance to look at the institutional investment process. The teaching will cover fundamental principles, asset classes in a portfolio context, strategic and tactical asset allocation and implementation, but also investment process governance, aspects of risk management as well as life cycle management, performance measurement and reporting. The course will also discuss the role of digital assets and has a particular look at sustainability across investment processes. In addition, use cases of specific types of investors (e.g. foundations) will be presented. The teaching will encompass the application of academic concepts, enriched by practical examples and various guest speakers.

Prerequisites

The target group is Master's students in Quantitative Finance and Banking & Finance, the language of the seminar is English. 

Prior Knowledge

Asset Management: Advanced Investments (mandatory, can be taken in the same semester); FinTech & InsurTech - Digitalization of the Financial Services Industry, Behavioral Finance and Private Banking as well as Sustainable Investing (recommended)
