Knowledge Retention via Microlearning and Learning Cards

Microlearning and learning cards are two effective approaches that contribute to knowledge retention in a learning environment.

Microlearning breaks down complex concepts into smaller, easily digestible pieces of information. By delivering content in bite-sized chunks, learners can focus on one topic at a time, reinforcing their understanding and retention. Short and focused learning sessions are more manageable, allowing learners to absorb information effectively without feeling overwhelmed. Learning cards, such as flashcards, promote spaced repetition. This technique involves reviewing information at increasing intervals over time, reinforcing memory and long-term retention.

By regularly revisiting key concepts through learning cards, learners strengthen their knowledge and improve recall over time. Both microlearning and learning cards require active engagement from learners. Instead of passively consuming content, learners are prompted to actively participate in the learning process. This active engagement facilitates deeper understanding and retention of information, as learners are encouraged to think, analyze, and apply knowledge.

Both elements are implemented in the KlickerUZH.
