11.07.2021New Head of Department

Pablo Koch Medina will take over from Marc Chesney as Head of the Department of Banking and Finance on August 1, 2021. The new DBF Directorate is completed by Thorsten Hens (Deputy) and Per Östberg.

Prof. Dr. Pablo Koch MedinaPablo Koch has been an Associate Professor of Finance and Insurance in our department since 2016. He successfully established the DBF Center for Finance and Insurance in 2013, and has been its Director since then.Thorsten Hens is Professor of Financial Economics and has been a member of the DBF Directorate since 2007 (Head of Department: 2007-2015).Per Oestberg is Associate Professor of Finance, he is currently program director of our Master's program in banking and finance.

Marc Chesney is Professor of Quantitative Finance and has served as Head of Department over 4+2 years, since 2015.

Among other positions, he is currently Chair of the UZH Center of Competence for Sustainable Finance.
