MA Digital Real Estate: Designing Innovative Business Models

The “Digital Real Estate” seminar provides insights into the digital transformation of the real estate industry. It begins with a theoretical insight into the fundamentals of the real estate industry. The seminar then examines the status quo of digitalization in the real estate sector and takes a closer look at current innovations and innovative business models. In this context, the aim is to visit a “smart property” in order to make innovations visible and thus tangible. In a case study, students are divided into groups and asked to develop their own digital business model. To this end, creative working approaches and methods such as design thinking, business model canvas and user journeys are taught in advance. Finally, each group is asked to pitch their business model to a selected innovation committee.
