In this section, we present a selection of specially curated seminars for Master students. These seminars are designed to offer additional insights and detailed information to help you make informed choices.
Many of the listed seminars are interdisciplinary, interactive, and/or conducted in close collaboration with industry partners. They provide an excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge, gain practical experience, and engage with real-world challenges beyond your core curriculum.

Registration takes place viaOLAT. The application form will open on Monday, 23 March 2026 and the application deadline is Sunday, 3 May 2026. An initial selection of participants is made on the basis of professional criteria, after which the decision is made by lot.

All those who apply will be informed by e-mail a few days after the application deadline whether they can take part or not.

- Preliminary discussion: The topics for the presentation will be distributed during an online preliminary discussion on Monday, 11 May 2026 at 6:15 pm.
- Block seminar: The Advanced Portfolio Management Game is expected to take place from Monday, 31 August to Wednesday, 2 September 2026 as a block event at Bank Julius Baer and will be supplemented by presentations by speakers from various departments of the bank.

Master: CFA Investment Challenge

Registration takes place viaOLAT. The application deadline is Thursday, 4 September 2025.
Selection of Participants
All students who register on OLAT will be notified via email before the seminar starts. Please note: Only students who have already taken advanced courses in corporate finance and accounting and who have obtained good grades will be considered for this seminar.

After a kick-off event (1.5 days) held before the official start of the semester, the seminar will be held almost every Wednesday from 14:00-18:00. The following dates are especially important:
- Deadline for seminar registration: 4 September 2025
- Kick-off CFA Challenge: 11 and 12 September 2025
- UZH Final (Presentations): 26 November 2025
In accordance with CFA Research Challenge regulations, all work is to be done in groups of four to five persons. Every group will be evaluated on the basis of an oral presentation (max. 10 minutes), followed by a Q&A session (max. 10 minutes) as well as a written report (max. 10 pages). Prior to the final presentation, every group will be asked repeatedly to present its work that will also count towards your final grade.
Master: Cultural Economics and Finance
Registration
To participate in the seminar, students must apply by Friday, 15 August 2025 by submitting a short letter of motivation and their CV to banking@uni-trier.de.
Selection of Participants
This seminar is primarily designed for Master- and PhD-students who have already finished their compulsory coursework.

All students who register on OLAT will be notified via email until July 15, 2025. This seminar is limited to 30 Master students interested in Real Estate Economics. An initial selection of participants is made based on professional criteria, followed by a random draw.

The seminar will take place from 1 - 5 September 2025 (09:00-17:00) at the University of Zurich. The grade will be determined by group presentations (100%): The grade consists of preparations + slides (50%) and presentation + Q&A (50%).
